Winemaker's Notes:
The bright, jammy fruit of the Calera "designer clone" meshes with darker flavors of the Pommard to create a rich, vivid wine that's evocative of the Santa Lucia region. Blackberry, dark fruit and cedar flavors are evident, as is an appealing richness and texture.
Vintage characteristics: An ideal growing season gave way to a September cool spell, allowing the fruit more hang time for flavor development. Morning fog led to sunshine and moderate temperatures during the day, ripening the fruit slowly in preparation for a by-hand pick in late September.
